A 60-year-old man identified as Austin T. Kerkulah has been discovered dead in a fish pond at Taylor’s Farm in Melekee Town, Bong County.

His family reported that he had been missing for several days before his body was found.
According to family sources, Kerkulah went out to look for water birds when he disappeared. After days of searching, he was eventually found in the nearby fish pond. His family was understandably devastated by the news.

A report from a 15-member jury, which examined the body, was released on November 9, 2024. It concluded that Kerkulah died from natural causes. The report stated that he likely drowned while fetching water birds from the pond.

The jury’s findings indicated there was no foul play involved in his death. This news brought some relief to the family, who feared that something more sinister might have happened.

Kerkulah was affectionately known in the community as “Darsey.” His sudden passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew him. Friends and family are mourning his loss and remembering him fondly.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, the Commander of the Crime Services Division of the Liberia National Police John Kelenso Flomo is conducting an investigation into the death of an unidentified woman near the Gbarnga regional hub.
