MONROVIA, Liberia — Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu recently hosted a reception for Liberian trainees who have participated in China’s human resources development programs.

The reception brought together more than 100 people, including Unity Party National Chairman Dr. J. Luther Tarpeh, Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim Nyei and representatives of the trainees.

Ambassador Yin said China’s human resources programs have helped promote development and strengthen people-to-people exchanges between China and Liberia.

He said China has trained many Liberians over the years and encouraged the trainees to use the knowledge and skills gained from the programs to contribute to Liberia’s development.

Ambassador Yin also urged the trainees to serve as ambassadors of friendship between Liberia and China.Chairman Tarpeh and Deputy Minister Nyei praised China for its continued support to Liberia’s capacity building and training programs in different areas.

They said the programs provide Liberia with opportunities to learn from China’s development experience and reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to the One-China Principle.

Representatives of the trainees thanked the Chinese government for providing the training opportunities. They pledged to apply what they learned to their respective jobs and contribute to Liberia’s development.

The reception highlights the continued cooperation between Liberia and China, particularly in human resource development and capacity building.
