Capitol Hill, Monrovia: The House of Representatives has forwarded to the requisite committees a bill submitted by Montserrado County Electoral District #1 Representative, Hon. Rugie Yatu Barry, seeking legislative enactment titled, “An Act to Provide for the Inclusion, Employment and Support for Persons with Disabilities.”
The proposed legislation was formally introduced during the 10th Day Sitting of the 1st Quarter of the 3rd Session of the 55th Legislature on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
According to the communication, the bill aims to establish measures that promote the inclusion of persons with disabilities in national development, particularly in the areas of employment and institutional support.
It also seeks to strengthen legal protections and ensure structured support systems for persons living with disabilities across Liberia.
The referral to the appropriate committees is in keeping with the House’s rules and procedures, paving the way for review and further legislative action.
