Monrovia: Former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor has accused the ruling Unity Party of using propaganda against the former Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) to secure victory in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking Tuesday, June 30, 2026 on Okay FM, Taylor alleged that the Unity Party campaigned on claims that Liberia was being overwhelmed by drug abuse, that young people had no jobs, and that businesses were collapsing under the CDC-led administration. She argued that these messages were used to convince Liberians to vote for a change in government.
The former Vice President said the current administration has failed to adequately address many of the issues it criticized while in opposition. According to her, the problems highlighted during the campaign continue to persist despite the change in leadership.
Taylor further maintained that several of the infrastructure projects currently being implemented by the government, particularly road construction and public bridge projects, were initiated during the CDC administration and are now being continued by the Unity Party government.
