Ganta City, Nimba county….., A prominent businessman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ma Queen Incorporated Business Center in Ganta, Adonis David Menlor, has revealed that his late wife, Abigail Mahmie Menlor, was a victim of medical malpractice allegedly carried out by the now-dismissed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the E&J Hospital, Dr. Peter Matthew George.
Speaking at a mini press conference on Friday, May 9, 2025, in Ganta, Menlor explained that he strongly believes his wife died as a result of a C-section surgery performed by Dr. George. According to him, following the surgery, his wife began experiencing severe stomach pain, which prompted him to request that she be transferred from E&J Hospital.
Menlor stated that he was later informed by the hospital that Dr. George had gone missing since performing the surgery. He noted that the inability to transfer his wife to another facility in time may have contributed to the complications that ultimately led to her death.
Reflecting on the incident, Menlor expressed deep disappointment in the government for appointing individuals to critical medical positions without thoroughly vetting their qualifications—especially in the health sector.
He urged the government to treat his wife’s death as a wake-up call and implement better vetting and monitoring systems to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Menlor also revealed that his late wife’s family now suspects him of being involved in ritualistic practices, a claim he strongly denies. He said the accusation has severely damaged his reputation, emphasizing that his wealth is entirely the result of his business endeavors.
He extended appreciation to Vice President Jeremiah Koung for providing a Land Cruiser Jeep that was intended to facilitate his wife’s possible transfer, had the need arisen in time.
His revelation comes shortly after the Liberia Medical and Dental Council revoked the medical license of Dr. Peter Matthew George for allegedly using fraudulent credentials. Additionally, Dr. George has been removed as President of the Liberia Medical and Dental Association. Allegations suggest that he operated with a fake degree or credentials.
Before relocating to Gbarpolu County, Dr. George served as the Chief Medical Officer at the Esther and Jereline Medical Center in Ganta, Nimba County, where he and his team reportedly performed over fifteen surgical operations.
