Monrovia, Liberia – Growing tensions are emerging within the Unity Party as its Auxiliaries Network, comprising over 500 groups that supported President Joseph Boakai’s “Rescue Mission,” has threatened to take radical action if their concerns are not addressed by January 2025.

According to a source who attended a meeting held on Saturday at the Unity Party Headquarters on Broad Street, the Auxiliaries convened to discuss what they describe as the deliberate abandonment of their network since the election and inauguration.

The source revealed that none of the Auxiliary Heads have been appointed to positions or received any form of acknowledgment for their contributions to the campaign.

We have had several meetings with the Chairman of the Unity Party, but all he keeps saying is to ‘bear patience,’ while jobs are being given to people of interest,” the source disclosed.

The group also highlighted a recent meeting with the Unity Party National Executive Committee (NEC) on November 17 at the Golden Key Hotel, during which they were told to wait until January for any resolution. However, frustration appears to be mounting.

We have had enough of this,” the source noted. “If the leadership of the Unity Party cannot address our concerns by January, we will be left with no alternative but to go radical. We will work with those Unity Party leaders who have jobs until they can find places to factor us in. We are very clear about that.”

The Auxiliaries Network has expressed deep disappointment over what they perceive as a lack of appreciation for their sacrifices, warning that the ongoing neglect risks embarrassing them in front of their communities.

Unity Party leaders have yet to comment on the growing discontent, but insiders suggest mounting pressure on the leadership to address these grievances before they escalate.
