Liberia’s Chief Executive, President Joseph Boaka, has called on the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) to remain impartial and dedicated to upholding the rule of law.

“I urge you to remain above partisan politics and focus on your duty to uphold the rule of law. Your independence is your strength. The legal community must be a pillar of fairness and justice for all”, President Boakai.

The president also expressed his administration’s willingness to work closely with the LNBA, encouraging open dialogue and constructive feedback.

President Boakai was speaking at the induction ceremony of newly elected officers of the LNBA at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town on Friday, January 31, 2025.

During the event, the President urged the LNBA to avoid becoming involved in partisan politics, emphasizing that their primary role is to serve justice and uphold the law without bias.

He also highlighted the key role that legal professionals play in ensuring peace, stability, and accountability in Liberia.

Newly elected LNBA President Cllr. Bornor M. Varmah and his team were officially inducted into office during the ceremony.

The event was attended by members of the judiciary, the National Legislature, diplomatic partners, and legal professionals from across the country.

President Boakai concluded his speech by reaffirming his government’s commitment to strengthening legal education, ensuring access to justice for all Liberians, and promoting transparency and good governance.

The LNBA, as a key institution in Liberia, was reminded of its responsibility to work alongside the government in ensuring that justice prevails and the law is upheld in all corners of the nation.
