The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has honored over Forty businesses, institutions, and organizations for their strong tax compliance and contribution to national revenue, following what it described as record-breaking domestic revenue performance in recent years.
The recognition was done during a Taxpayers Appreciation Awards Dinner held at the Paynesville City Hall, where the LRA highlighted taxpayers who consistently paid their taxes on time and supported government revenue mobilization for the 2024 and 2025 fiscal years.
Orange Liberia Limited was named the country’s top overall taxpayer, followed by Monrovia Breweries in second place and ArcelorMittal Liberia in third.
Other major awardees included Firestone Liberia, which led in property tax payments, and ArcelorMittal Liberia, which also topped contributions in the natural resources sector. Orange Liberia again featured strongly, leading the large taxpayer category.
In the medium and small taxpayer categories, WBHO SC Limited and Force Security Enterprise were recognized respectively for their compliance and contributions.
In the education and religious sectors, the African Methodist Episcopal University and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were honored for their tax remittances.
In the customs and trade sector, Fouani Brothers Corporation ranked highest in general merchandise, while Conex Petroleum Service led in petroleum-related taxes. Providence Clearing and Forwarding Services was also recognized for strong compliance among customs brokers.
Ecobank Liberia Limited was awarded for the highest tax remittances collected through banking channels, while Lone Star MTN Mobile Money was recognized in the mobile money category.
Among government institutions, the Ministry of Mines and Energy was named the highest tax-paying ministry, while the Liberia Maritime Authority topped state-owned enterprises.
Speaking at the event, LRA Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah praised taxpayers for helping the country achieve its strongest revenue performance, noting that Liberia exceeded its 2025 domestic revenue target of US$804 million.
He also revealed that domestic revenue has increased significantly over the past two years, surpassing growth recorded in the previous decade.
“Liberia is rising, and she is rising on the shoulders of her taxpayers,” Jallah said, adding that the LRA will continue improving compliance systems and expanding the tax base.
The event was held under the theme “From Vision to Reality: Taxpayers Delivering a Billion Dollar Budget” and formed part of a month-long taxpayer appreciation program, which included outreach activities, education campaigns, and community support initiatives.
The LRA says the awards aim to encourage voluntary tax compliance and strengthen public participation in national development.
