Finance Minister Augustine Ngafuan has outlined the Government’s ambitious ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, which envisions a significant transformation of Liberia’s economy and social conditions in the coming years.

Speaking during the program’s launch in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Minister Ngafuan revealed that the agenda aims to boost Liberia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 37%, increasing the economy’s size from $4.75 billion to $6.5 billion.

According to the minister, this sharp economic growth will be achieved through the full implementation of the ARREST Agenda’s strategic components.

Minister Ngafuan also emphasized the plan’s focus on improving the quality of life for Liberians.

He highlighted projections for extending life expectancy from 60 to 65 years and reducing the maternal mortality rate from the current 742 deaths per 100,000 live births to 440.

These measures, he said, are crucial steps toward enhancing the nation’s health sector and overall well-being of its citizens.

The Finance Minister expressed confidence that the ARREST Agenda would not only drive economic growth but also play a pivotal role in advancing Liberia’s overall development goals.

He noted that the successful implementation of the agenda would improve the country’s standing on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) index, reflecting significant progress in various development indicators.

Minister Ngafuan concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to the agenda’s objectives and called on all stakeholders to support its implementation for the benefit of all Liberians.

The launch of the ARREST Agenda marks a major milestone in Liberia’s efforts to achieve inclusive and sustainable development.

The program, held on Wednesday in Grand Bassa County, brought together key government officials, development partners, and stakeholders committed to Liberia’s growth.
