Monrovia– As part of efforts to combat drug and substance abuse across the country, a small but dedicated organization Let’s Boost Education , consisting of fewer than 30 members, successfully concluded a one-day sports event this past weekend.

Held at the Doe Community Sports Park, the event brought together community members, athletes, and local leaders, creating a vibrant atmosphere of unity and action against drug abuse.

The day featured various sports activities, including football matches, volleyball, and kickball events. Participants of all ages joined in, fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork while promoting the message of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

In addition to the sports activities, the day-long gathering included educational sessions led by young students who discussed the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of making positive choices.

Delivering a special speech at the session, an anti-drug campaigner and coordinator of the organization Zephenus Michelle Baker shared stories of individuals who have transformed their lives from drug addiction.

She urged everyone to take an active role in the fight against drug abuse. “Sports can be a powerful tool for change,” she emphasized. “It keeps us physically fit and helps build discipline, teamwork, and a sense of purpose—qualities that can steer us away from the path of drug abuse.”

Baker concluded by expressing the organization’s gratitude to everyone who participated and supported the initiative.

The event concluded with an award ceremony, recognizing the winners and symbolizing their commitment to living drug-free lives and supporting the community’s efforts against drug abuse.
