Monrovia, Liberia – May 26, 2025: The Commissioner General of Liberia World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, Madam Juli Endee, has unveiled a lineup of flagship events designed to showcase Liberia’s culture, investment potential, and international partnerships at the ongoing global exposition in Osaka.
Speaking at a press conference in Monrovia on Monday, Madam Endee reported that Liberia’s participation has already attracted over 80,000 visitors, reflecting growing global interest in the country’s diverse offerings.
“Our presence at Expo 2025 has drawn immense attention to the uniqueness of Liberia’s culture and the richness of our natural endowments,” she said. “We’ve demonstrated the potential of our tourism, agriculture, mining, forestry, and fisheries sectors while highlighting our readiness for trade and foreign direct investment.”
She announced that the Liberia Pavilion—a series of thematic events and showcases under the broader Liberia World Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan—will feature three major upcoming activities aimed at strengthening Liberia’s global profile.
The first of these events is the Liberia Women’s Forum, slated for August 24–25, 2025, at the Women’s Pavilion. Held under the theme “Connecting Women in the Global Space Per Excellence for an Inclusive Society” with a focus on “Let Her Voice,” the forum will promote gender and social inclusion as key tools for national development. It will bring together female trailblazers, thought leaders, and influencers from across the world to celebrate achievements, tackle challenges, and define new pathways for women’s leadership in development.
To further elevate the event’s impact, the Liberia Pavilion has partnered with the Jellyfish Pavilion—one of Expo 2025’s premier entertainment and cultural centers. Distinguished Japanese women leaders, including celebrated performer and Expo producer Mrs. Sachiko Nakajima, are expected to participate. The forum has secured broad media coverage and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to gender equality and international cooperation.
On August 27, the Pavilion will host the Business and Investment Forum at the Festival Station on the Expo grounds. This event will feature a strategic partnership with Yao City, a major industrial center in Japan’s Kansai region known for food production, automotive manufacturing, and export innovation. The Mayor of Yao City will serve as special guest speaker, and a delegation of Japanese investors will engage with Liberian stakeholders in sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, and trade.
Madam Endee emphasized that the forum aims to position Liberia as a prime destination for investment by providing a platform for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and business leaders to explore opportunities and forge partnerships. A key element of the event will be the promotion of Liberian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which will showcase their innovations and explore entry into global markets. These businesses will benefit from capacity-building workshops, business-to-business networking, and insights from Japanese business models in sustainability and technology. The Ministry of Commerce and the Liberia Chamber of Commerce will lead this component, in alignment with President Joseph N. Boakai’s ARREST Agenda.
Liberia’s showcase at Expo 2025 will reach a cultural high point on Liberia National Day, celebrated on August 28, 2025. Children from Yao City and Nikaho City will join Liberian youth in a ceremonial parade and jointly perform the Liberian National Anthem alongside renowned Liberian artists Semah and Glady. The day will continue with a collaborative performance featuring Japanese and Liberian cultural troupes, aimed at fostering cross-cultural exchange and mutual appreciation.
Later that evening, the Golden Image Awards will be held at the Grand Prince Hotel, honoring individuals and institutions for outstanding contributions to Liberia’s development and image-building. The awards ceremony will be followed by a presidential dinner reception and a live musical performance. A grand musical and cultural showcase will also take place at the Expo Arena—one of the largest venues at the exposition—highlighting Liberia’s artistic vibrancy before an international audience of over 1,000 guests.
“Liberia’s engagement at Expo 2025 is a deliberate move to expand our footprint on the world stage,” Madam Endee said. “We are proud to present a country that is ready for growth, open for business, and rich in culture and opportunity.”
Expo 2025 Osaka, held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” runs through October 2025 with over 150 countries participating. Liberia’s program of events continues to serve as a platform for economic diplomacy, cultural celebration, and global dialogue.
