Monrovia— Montserrado County District #10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah, the has criticized former President George Weah’s recent viral dance video.
Kolubah described the video as a “gross display of insensitivity” amidst what he calls the country’s current challenges.
In a statement, Kolubah expressed deep frustration, accusing Weah of engaging in “frivolous entertainment” while pressing national issues remain unresolved.
“George Weah should stop dancing and start addressing the critical concerns facing the Liberian people,” Kolubah remarked.
As a prominent opposition figure, Kolubah highlighted the recent dismissals within the Executive Protection Service (EPS) and the unexplained removal of officers from their posts.
He called on Weah to speak out on behalf of those affected. “Weah should be advocating for the public servants and diplomats who were abruptly dismissed from their positions, many of whom are now jobless without any clear justification.”
Kolubah further noted that the recall of diplomats from Liberia’s foreign missions poses serious risks to the country’s international standing. He believes the former president should focus on these pressing matters rather than indulging in entertainment.
Referencing Weah’s defeat in the 2023 elections, Kolubah urged the former President to shift his attention to holding the government accountable.
“It’s time for Weah to stand up for Liberians and put the government’s feet to the fire,” Kolubah stated, emphasizing the need for the opposition to unite in the best interests of Liberia.
Kolubah, an anti-Weah Politician during his (Weah) six years as President recently flipped on Weah’s side and has been a vocal critic of Unity Party’s Joseph Boakia.
