Monrovia, Liberia — Controversial social media talk-show host Justin Oldpa Yeaseahn, alias Prophet Key, has been released from the Monrovia Central Prison after serving a six-month sentence imposed by the Supreme Court of Liberia for contempt of court.
Prophet Key was jailed on February 13, 2026, after pleading guilty to contempt of court.
The Full Bench of the Supreme Court on Friday, August 14, ordered his immediate release, stating that Yeaseahn had “fully served his six (6) months sentence imposed by the Supreme Court of Liberia for contempt of court.”
Speaking to journalists shortly after his release, Prophet Key said his incarceration would not end his advocacy. “I will continue advocating,” he said.
He stated that he would familiarize himself with the conditions of the behavioral bond he signed with the Supreme Court to ensure that he conducts himself accordingly.
Prophet Key Says Liberians Should Not Escape Justice
Prophet Key also said Liberians accused of wrongdoing should not flee the country to avoid facing justice, citing former talk-show host Henry Costa.
He alleged that Costa was “wrapped like a dry bony fish in carton” and taken out of Liberia during the George Weah administration to avoid facing court proceedings.
Prophet Key said people accused of wrongdoing should remain in the country and face justice, adding that he had chosen to submit himself to the law.
Vows to Sue Over Rape Allegation
Meanwhile, Prophet Key has vowed to take legal action against Suzan Gbangaye, an exiled Liberian, over allegations she made on social media claiming that he was raped while in prison.
Prophet Key denied the allegation and said he intends to sue Gbangaye over the claim.
Calls Release a “Rebrand”
Prophet Key described his release as a “rebrand,” saying he had been rehabilitated, reassimilated and relocated during his time in detention.
“I’ve been rehabilitated, reassimilated and relocated,” he said.
He also called for greater attention to detainees who have spent extended periods in custody, arguing that some inmates remain incarcerated for years despite appearing before court.
Prophet Key said he was happy to regain his freedom and reunite with his family, particularly his wife and daughter.
