Capitol Hill, Monrovia: The Chinese Embassy in Liberia, led by Ambassador H.E. Yin Chengwu, has donated over 2,000 helmets to the Liberia National Police. This significant contribution was made on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the police headquarters, aiming to enhance public safety for motorcyclists in the country.

The donation aligns with recent measures promoting helmet use among motorcyclists, reflecting a commitment to improving road safety in Liberia. The helmets will be distributed to more than 2,000 motorcyclists, ensuring that riders are better protected while on the roads.

Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman lauded  gratitude for the embassy’s gesture, emphasizing the importance of this donation in fulfilling public safety objectives. He assured Ambassador Chengwu that the helmets would be effectively utilized for their intended purpose.

Attorney General of Liberia, Natu Oswald Tweh also acknowledged the embassy’s contribution on behalf of the Justice Ministry, extending heartfelt thanks for their commitment to enhancing safety in Liberia. 

Meanwhile, this initiative underscores the ongoing collaboration between Liberia and China in promoting Public safety.
