Monrovia, Liberia — Dr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva, popularly known as Jeety, on Christmas Day continued his eight-year tradition of providing hot meals to hundreds of inmates at the Monrovia Central Prison, bringing hope and cheer to incarcerated Liberians during the festive season.

The annual gesture has become a symbol of compassion for prisoners who are often overlooked during holidays. Jeety’s initiative once again ensured that inmates shared in the joy of Christmas through warm, nutritious meals.

Beyond the prison outreach, Jeety, through Jeety Rubber and its partner Salala Rubber Corporation, hosted a massive Christmas celebration for more than 5,000 children in Weala, Cinta District. Children from surrounding communities, including Bypolo, Massaquoi Town, and Villages Town, received food, toys, and gifts.

“We believe in supporting the communities where we work. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces during this festive time makes it all worthwhile,” the company said in a statement.

The companies also distributed over 100 bags of rice to motorcyclists in the area, recognizing their vital role in providing transportation across rural Liberia, especially during the busy holiday season.

Jeety Rubber and Salala Rubber Corporation say their Christmas activities are part of a broader commitment to community development, including ongoing investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure in Margibi County.

Local leaders and residents have praised Jeety’s continued philanthropy, noting that the initiatives provide immediate relief while strengthening ties between the companies and host communities. The companies have pledged to sustain their support for Liberia’s most vulnerable populations beyond the holiday season.
