Ganta, Nimba County – Yenglee Memorial Hospital has officially opened its doors to provide a wide range of healthcare services to residents of Ganta and surrounding communities.
The 55-bed facility includes 30 regular patient beds, two delivery rooms, and eight postpartum rooms designed to care for new mothers and their babies for up to 48 hours. Additionally, the hospital boasts a well-equipped laboratory, a pharmacy, and a surgical unit, among other essential facilities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the hospital’s proprietor, Nuahya Yenglee Karbeah, emphasized that patient care and satisfaction would be the cornerstone of their operations.
He disclosed that all recommendations made by the Nimba County Health Team and the Liberia Medical and Dental Council had been fully implemented. These include installing an incinerator, a placental pit, air conditioning, and integrating qualified healthcare workers from the district health team.
“We are not in competition with any facility , we are here to compliment what they are doing and we are very happy to be part of this community to help keep people safe”, Karbeah stated.
With the opening of Yenglee Memorial Hospital, Ganta now has three major hospitals, including the United Methodist Hospital and E&J Medical Center, to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
Prominent businessman Matthew Tuah, who attended the event, praised the Yenglee family for their initiative and urged residents to support and utilize the hospital.
” The city is overwhelmed by this development , we want to say thank you to Mr. Karbeah and his family. I am asking everyone to maintain and make use of this place like our own ”, Tuah remarked.
For his part , the district EPA supervisor, Paye P. Gbaintor, advised the hospital’s Human Resources department to maintain high standards of professionalism. He urged them to avoid employing staff more focused on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok than on patient care.
