Jewel Howard Taylor, the former Vice President of Liberia, has expressed concern over the country’s worsening economic situation, stating that unemployment and hardship have notably risen under the current administration.
During an appearance on Spoon Talk with Stanton Witherspoon, Taylor remarked, “More people are unemployed now than under the previous administration,” and added, “More people are suffering now than before.”
Her statement comes as public anxiety grows over the increasing cost of living and limited employment opportunities. While Taylor did not provide specific data, her comments have sparked renewed discussions regarding the Boakai-Koung administration’s economic recovery and job creation strategies.
The former Vice President, who served under former President George Weah, called on the current leadership to urgently address the economic struggles facing ordinary Liberians. The government has yet to respond officially to her assertions.
