Unification City, Tarjuowon Statutory District – The Tarjuowon People’s Association (TAPA), representing citizens from across the district’s five sections, has categorically rejected the recent nominations of Hon. Annie Pobleh as Superintendent and Hon. Paul J. Chea as Development Officer. These appointments were announced by President Joseph N. Boakai.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, during a one-day conference in Unification City, citizens expressed their frustration with the nominees. They cited allegations of corruption, embezzlement, fostering disunity, and failing to bring development to the district.
The citizens alleged that during the past six years under the CDC-led government, Superintendent Annie Pobleh failed to deliver any tangible development in Tarjuowon. They further accused her of lacking accountability for funds allocated during county sittings and through the Social Development Fund, which were intended for development initiatives.
Specific unaccounted sums were highlighted, including $7,500 USD from the 2018-2019 County Sitting and $19,000 USD from the 2022-2023 County Sitting. Citizens expressed disappointment that these funds, meant to enhance the district’s growth, have not produced visible results.
The conference concluded with a strong call to President Boakai to reconsider the nominations and appoint leaders with integrity, transparency, and a clear vision for progress in Tarjuowon Statutory District.
The citizens emphasized that such actions are necessary to restore trust, ensure accountability, and foster unity within the district.
