Monrovia— The Citizen Action Movement (CAM), has issued a statement against media personalities Stanton Witherspoon and Justin Oldpa Yeazhen, popularly known as “Prophet Key, for their alleged unsubstantiated and unethical attacks on the Speaker of the House Richard Koon.
In a press release issued on Thursday, CAM accused Witherspoon and Prophet Key of spearheading a social media campaign of diatribe against Speaker Koon, leveraging platforms such as the Spoon Network to spread what the group calls false information and negative propaganda.
CAM alleged that the two men have resorted to blackmail both direct and indirect to pressure the Speaker, with Witherspoon accused of pursuing illegal deals with the government and Prophet Key allegedly demanding huge sums of money for unspecified favors.”The unethical use of social media to falsely malign the character of Speaker Koon is a clear abuse of the freedom of speech,” CAM stated, urging the Press Union of Liberia and the public to address what it described as “unprofessional conduct” in the media space.
CAM Secretary General Bedford Dennison characterized the accused as “pocket advocates” who have traded integrity for self-interest, adding, “They have traded their credibility for reputational ruin.
Founded in 2023, CAM positions itself as a guardian of ethical public service and “clean and green speech.” The group has called on the accused to first address their own “serious legal consequences and ethical backlash” before offering “unsolicited critiques of high office.
