Greenville City, Sinoe County – The Sinoe County Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has apprehended a Nigerian national for alleged possession of illegal drugs. The arrest occurred during a routine night patrol on January 18, 2025, at approximately 7:30 PM in Greenville City and its surrounding areas.
According to a statement from the LDEA, the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Olisa Emeka, a resident of Teah’s Town community, was arrested in the New Kru Town community of Greenville City.
Special Agent Milton Kloh Howard, who led the operation, reported that a search revealed Mr. Emeka in possession of two kilograms of compressed marijuana with an estimated street value of $200 USD (38,000 Liberian Dollars) and one carton of “Ven Guinea” cigarettes valued at $250 USD (47,500 Liberian Dollars).
Mr. Emeka is currently detained at the LDEA office in Greenville City, where he is undergoing investigation. The agency has confirmed that the suspect will be forwarded to court for trial in the coming days.
The LDEA has reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and abuse across Sinoe County and the entire country. The agency is calling on citizens to report any suspicious activities in their communities to support the fight against illegal drugs.
