MONROVIA, Liberia — The Liberian Government has dismissed as “false, misleading and malicious” reports claiming that its delegation walked out of the United Nations General Assembly Hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Speaking to DN News Liberia, Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah said the reports were inaccurate, clarifying that Liberia was represented in the hall by the Deputy Chief of Mission of its Permanent Mission to the United Nations, alongside other officials, while Netanyahu delivered his speech.
Minister Piah said the presence of Liberian officials in the General Assembly Hall during the Israeli Prime Minister’s address contradicts reports suggesting that the country’s delegation participated in a walkout.
The clarification comes amid reports circulating on social media and other platforms claiming that Liberia was among several countries whose representatives left the General Assembly Hall in protest during Netanyahu’s address at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
However, the Liberian Government maintains that the reports do not accurately reflect the presence of its delegation during the speech.
The government’s clarification seeks to correct what it considers a misleading account of Liberia’s participation in the high-level international gathering, where world leaders and representatives of member states addressed issues of global concern.
The Liberian Government has rejected claims that its delegation walked out, maintaining that its officials remained represented in the hall during the Israeli Prime Minister’s address.
