Monrovia, Liberia- A wave of anger and frustration has erupted within the ranks of the Unity Party Youth League, as disenchanted youth members have launched a scathing attack on their chairman, accusing him of being a “belle driven” and a “gravy seeker” with no regard for the welfare of his own party’s youth.
In a heated press conference at the party headquarters, several young members spoke out, describing their chairman as a “wicked partisan” who has turned a blind eye to their struggles, despite their tireless work during the election campaigns. They allege that while they endure poverty and hardship, their chairman enjoys a life of luxury, filling his pockets and empowering his family and girlfriends with key government positions.
“We’re dying while he lives in comfort, getting drunk and living a lavish life,” one outspoken member tearfully declared during the press event. “He and his circle only care about themselves. We’re tired of the lies and scams they keep feeding us.”
Another member, furious over the lack of support, accused the youth leadership of betraying the very people who put them in power. “We are suffering and striving, yet they continue to feed off the backs of the youth while pushing us further into poverty,” they said. “This ‘rescue mission’ is nothing but a joke—nothing has changed, and they’ve done nothing to help us.”
The disgruntled youth members are now calling for immediate action from the party’s leadership and the president to address the growing divide. Their message is clear: they will no longer remain silent. “We will continue to resist them in public until our voices are heard and our needs are met.”
This outburst signals a deepening crisis within the Unity Party, as accusations of corruption, nepotism, and neglect spiral out of control. The party now faces mounting pressure to resolve the tensions before the situation escalates further.
