Montserrado District 17 Representative Bernard “DJ Blue” Benson has called on President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to take decisive action in enforcing the Liberia Traffic Management Deal.

In an open letter to the President, Rep. Benson stressed that the concession, which was passed by both Houses of the Legislature and signed into law, is being disregarded by the Ministry of Transport in violation of a directive from the President’s office.

He revealed that despite the Supreme Court’s opinion on the matter, the Transport Ministry continues to issue licenses and register vehicles through another company, MDMC.

“This is a deliberate disregard to the highest office of the land,” the District 17 lawmaker said.

Benson further described the issuance of “illegal stay orders” against the concession’s operations as harassment and a mockery of the judiciary.

He warned that such actions undermine the country’s reputation and could discourage potential investors.

“Our country with so much to offer needs an attractive reputation in trade to prosper,” Benson wrote.

He urged President Boakai to immediately intervene, emphasizing that the business climate is being closely monitored by international partners.
