Morocco, June 19, 2025 – Liberia’s National Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director, Hon. Sekou A.M. Dukuly, is making headlines at the AfricaMed Business Forum in Morocco as he shared Liberia’s strides in port modernization and its broader strategy for enhancing regional trade connectivity.

Speaking today at the high-level forum, MD Dukuly highlighted Liberia’s progress in transforming its seaport infrastructure into a key enabler of regional economic integration. His presentation, which focused on innovative reforms and strategic investments at Liberia’s ports, drew attention to the country’s ambition to become a vital logistics and trade hub in West Africa.

“We are building a modern port system that doesn’t just serve Liberia, but also supports the seamless movement of goods across the region,” MD Dukuly told delegates. “This is central to our strategy for economic growth, job creation, and deeper trade partnerships across Africa.”

Held under the theme “Removing Barriers: Innovative Financing Strategies and Public-Private Partnership for Development in Africa,” the AfricaMed Business Forum brings together over 500 stakeholders, including policymakers, business leaders, and global investors. The event provides a critical platform for dialogue on Africa’s development priorities and the role of infrastructure in unlocking trade potential.

Dukuly’s participation places Liberia in a spotlight among African nations exploring port-sector reforms. He emphasized the importance of adopting public-private partnership models and leveraging new financing tools to modernize port operations, improve efficiency, and expand cargo handling capacity.

This strategic engagement comes as Liberia accelerates efforts to improve port infrastructure, digitalize services, and reduce trade bottlenecks—key pillars of its long-term development agenda.

The NPA boss also held discussions with potential investors and development partners on the margins of the forum, aimed at securing new collaborations to expand Liberia’s port network and boost maritime competitiveness.

As the AfricaMed Forum continues through June 20, MD Dukuly’s contributions reaffirm Liberia’s commitment to regional trade integration and its rising voice in Africa’s logistics and maritime transformation.
