Greenville, Sinoe County — Thursday, February 12, 2026Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) has paid a full settlement of Three Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Eight United States Dollars (US$3,798) to its former employee, Mr. Sunnyboy Dapaye, following an investigation conducted by the Sinoe County Labor Commissioner, Mr. Yantee G. Mah.
The payment was made through the Labor Commissioner’s Office after the completion of a review process involving sixteen (16) cases between GVL and some of its workers. According to information gathered, Mr. Dapaye was among the first group of eleven (11) individuals whose cases were concluded and approved for payment by the company.
Commissioner Mah led the investigation into the complaints, facilitating discussions between the company and the affected workers to ensure adherence to Liberia’s labor laws. As a result, GVL agreed to settle the first batch of eleven cases, including that of Mr. Dapaye.
Meanwhile, payments for the remaining six (6) individuals are still pending. Authorities at the Labor Commissioner’s Office have assured that engagements with the company are ongoing to ensure those outstanding matters are resolved in a timely and lawful manner.
The development underscores the active role of the Sinoe County Labor Office in addressing labor disputes and promoting fairness between employers and employees within the county.
Golden Veroleum Liberia remains one of the major concession companies operating in Sinoe County, employing hundreds of Liberians across its operational areas.
