The City Government of Greenville, led by Mayor Harrison O. Kai, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with DAGOC-Liberia to oversee the collection and disposal of municipal waste in the city.
Mayor Kai emphasized the City Government’s decision to hire an independent contractor to enhance the enforcement of Greenville’s city ordinance and give the city the facelift it deserves. The MOU, signed on Monday, September 30, 2024, grants DAGOC-Liberia exclusive authority to manage waste and recycling in Greenville for a period of four years, starting from October 15, 2024.
Under the agreement, the City Government will require residents to provide garbage bins for the safe collection and disposal of waste. Additionally, the City will allocate a landfill site for the contractor’s use. In the event that the contractor fails to meet the terms of the agreement, the contract will be terminated following a notice of delinquency. The new MOU nullifies and supersedes all previous agreements.
