The Authority of Christ’s Victory International School System in Paynesville City, which is a contemporary hub for academic excellence, has publicized that its students usually passed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) through extra curriculum exercise and has added a vocational school for self-employment. “We have a disciplinary school; and we love education, we want our children to succeed, so we really discipline them and advise them to be studious – studying hard, respecting their teachers and respecting one another in class,” Dr. David D. Dann, founder and president of Christ’s Victory International School System said.
The Christ’s Victory International School System is on record for its academic strict orders mandate, which secures students’ future to be trustworthy citizens and to become tomorrow best leaders in Liberia and the world at large. In the same manner, its checkmate teachers and monitor the relationship between teachers and the students to clampdown on academic pollution.
“No bribery in the school; we do not want any of our students to give money to teachers for grade. We do not want anybody to exchange sex for grade; those are zero tolerance; anytime we see something like that, that teacher will be fire, we do not care which subject you are teaching,” Dr. Dann, the school’s founder sounds a caveat. Over the weekend, Dr. Dann and his wife Annette M. Dann were interviewed on the school campus that is adjacent the Orange Tower, at Rehab, Paynesville. The couple who spent four decades plus in the diaspora observed that Liberia is not well grounded in the comity of nations due to Liberians culture differences, like lack of patriotism, rampant corruption and unfaithfulness act at every sector of the society. “We try to erase some of the negative cultural thing like doing wrong thing; but when you try to correct them, Liberians can say this is Liberia, ‘we do things outside down here.’ That is not a good culture for Liberians and we trying to change their attitude and their mind, perception and the way they do things here through standard education service,” both couple said in a sad tone.
However, insincerity, dishonesty, and so on, is not a recipe for a country development agenda, rather a setback, which has been hindering Liberia’s progress for decades as corrupt system is the order of the society and is being transferred from generation to generation, serving as a culture for the entire nation.
”You have to do what is right, for that, people will accept you, motivate you and God also will help you achieve what you do. We try to help the students to do positive confession and to stop the Liberian negative mentality of doing things,” Dr. Dann disclosed.
However, the Liberian way of doing thing has served as a nightmare for Liberia’s progress for decades, and as long as it has rooted in the society, Liberia development achievement and producing law abiding citizens are far from over. But Dr. Dann and his wife said offering quality education with high disciplinary action will produce law abiding citizens who will repair Liberia society.
“We always encouraged the students to focus on their lessons because education will one day open the window of opportunity, and for that reason, we told them to be very careful and take education as treasure for hope. Cheating and other academic pollution are not allowed here,” Dr. Dann informed. “We have a very dedicated staff, who are trained and teaching the children, we thank them for their time,” Annette M. Dann said. “Every week, they help the students study by reviewing their notes; we encouraged the students to study, we are proud of them.”
Mostly, the school employed teachers who have bachelor of art degree, AA degree, bachelor of science, “C” certificate, and so on. Besides, it has added extra curriculum activities for the students’ wellbeing. “We love quality education. The young people, we teach them about video CD – how to pronounce words correctly, prepare them speak Standard English; do visual learning, and so on, to help them become a successful students,” Dr. Dann said. “Most of the students graduated from high school and college, cannot read and write these days; that is one of our main point here; we want every student to study hard; if you do not do well, we encouraged you to succeed”. For the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), the school always coming out with a flying color, it passed the WASSCE year before last, last year and all the students passed the nine subjects this year, according to the school’s authority. “This year, we sent 28 students to write the national exam and they all came out with flying color,” Dr. Dann said. Mrs. Dann said they have added computer lab and have installed Wi-Fi on the campuses for the students’ to have access to the internet.
“If we play with their education, we play with their future. We make sure teachers present their lessons well; have their less plan ready before going to class to teach; because without lesson plan, they have no roadmap and they are going to lost,” Dr. Dann and Mrs. Dann said in a uniformity tone.
In furtherance, the couple said they have integrated the regular school with a vocational school, noting that some of the students upon graduation, would not attend college but would learn trade to establish their own business. “We have the science laboratory for them to learn how to use the microscope; computer lab is almost done to compete with students in foreign countries like United States, Europe, and so on; we want them to be exposed to technology,” the couple said. The Christ Victory International School System was founded April 12, 1998 on the Old Road and started active operation 1999. In 2026, the school authority bought a parcel of land in Paynesville Community where the school is at present. In addition, the school currently has two campuses, the Paynesville City headquarters campus and Duazon campus. Both students passed the national exam this year all nine subjects.
