Brewerville City, Montserrado County – The Brewerville Magisterial Court has issued a writ of summons for Grand Cape Mount County Senator Simeon Taylor following allegations of simple assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal coercion brought against him by Lena Hawa Magona.

According to the court document dated January 18, 2025, Magona accused Senator Taylor of attempting to sexually abuse her at his residence in Brewerville. She also alleged that he ordered his security guards to beat and publicly humiliate her.

In her statement, Magona, who is married to Senator Taylor’s Chief of Staff, recounted: “He ordered his security to beat on me after attempting to sexually abuse me in his house. The senator, whom I have known for over a decade, insulted my womanhood, calling me degrading names in front of others, including his partner.”

Magona explained that the incident escalated after she confronted the senator about alleged public and private mistreatment. “I went to ask him to stop abusing me, but instead, he ordered his security to disgrace me and threatened my life,” she said.

Senator Taylor Denies Allegations

Senator Taylor has strongly denied the accusations, describing them as politically motivated. “I have never abused or ordered harm against her. This is an attempt to tarnish my character,” he said.

The senator also disclosed that he had suspended Magona’s husband, his Chief of Staff, citing ongoing disrespect from Magona. “She has been making disrespectful remarks toward me for years, but I’ve always taken them as jokes.

Now, this is being used by my political opponents to damage my reputation,” he added.

Court Hearing Scheduled

The matter is set to be heard on January 22, 2025, at the Brewerville Magisterial Court. Magona is seeking justice for what she describes as severe physical and emotional harm, while Senator Taylor has expressed confidence that the truth will prevail.
