Paris, France – In a powerful address to the Liberian community in France, Ambassador Teeko Tozay Yorlay, Sr., PhD, underscored his unwavering commitment to promoting the development vision of Liberia’s President, Joseph Nyuma Boakai. Speaking at the Liberian United Mandingo for Development’s (LUMDF) Inauguration and Eid celebrations in Drancy, France, on April 12, 2025, the ambassador highlighted key aspects of the President’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, which is aimed at revitalizing Liberia’s economy and promoting the welfare of its people.

Ambassador Yorlay emphasized the six core pillars of the ARREST Agenda—Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism—reiterating their importance in building a strong and prosperous Liberia. He called on the Liberian diaspora community in France to support and invest in these crucial sectors as part of the national development strategy.

“The ARREST Agenda is a comprehensive plan designed to address Liberia’s most pressing challenges and open doors to new opportunities. It focuses on essential areas that will not only improve the lives of Liberians but also attract international investment and create lasting prosperity,” Ambassador Yorlay stated.

The ambassador went on to explain how each sector of the ARREST Agenda offers immense potential for engagement from the diaspora community. He encouraged Liberians in France to actively participate in investment forums, promote educational partnerships, and contribute to the advancement of Liberia’s tourism and cultural sectors.

“Together, we can help foster economic growth through agribusiness partnerships, boost tourism by showcasing Liberia’s rich cultural heritage, and create an environment where education and innovation thrive. We have the opportunity to be catalysts for Liberia’s transformation, not only by supporting initiatives at home but also by bringing our skills and resources to bear here in France and across Europe,” he added.

Ambassador Yorlay also took the opportunity to reaffirm his support for President Boakai’s vision and expressed his determination to continue fostering ties between Liberia and France. He invited the diaspora to actively engage with the Embassy and work together for the betterment of Liberia, emphasizing that unity and collaboration are key to realizing the country’s development goals.

“By working together, we can ensure that Liberia emerges as a thriving nation, one that offers opportunities to its people and attracts international partners eager to contribute to its growth. Let us unite in support of the ARREST Agenda and be the change Liberia needs,” concluded Ambassador Yorlay.

The ambassador’s address resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring many to think critically about their role in Liberia’s development and how the diaspora can play a vital part in advancing the ARREST Agenda. His call for unity and active participation in national progress served as a reminder that the collective efforts of Liberians, both at home and abroad, are essential for building a better future for the country.
