Tarweh-Drapo, Sinoe County — The Sunday Kantan Foundation, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sunday Kantan, has officially launched a major community development initiative in the Tarweh-Drapo Community, focusing on bridge rehabilitation and educational support. Mr. Kantan, a native of the Tarweh-Drapo Community, announced that the Foundation has begun the rehabilitation of more than thirteen bridges in the area, aimed at solving long-standing transportation and accessibility challenges faced by residents, especially during the rainy season.
The bridge project follows the successful completion of the Foundation’s Peace and Reconciliation Program, which was implemented to promote unity, stability, and peaceful coexistence among community members.Speaking during the launch, Mr. Kantan disclosed that out of the thirteen bridges targeted, more than six have already been completed, while work is actively ongoing on the remaining structures.In addition to infrastructure development, the Foundation has also extended support to the education sector.
Mr. Kantan announced that the Foundation will provide a monthly stipend of US$30 to three volunteer teachers at Tubmanville High School, beginning January 31, 2026, to help motivate and retain volunteer educators who are contributing to the school’s academic growth.“The Sunday Kantan Foundation is committed not only to rebuilding our infrastructure but also to investing in the future of our community through education and sustainable development,” Mr. Kantan said.
Residents of Tarweh-Drapo have welcomed the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, especially in improving movement between towns and supporting the education of local children.
The Sunday Kantan Foundation continues to implement people-centered development projects across Electoral District Number One, with the aim of improving living conditions, strengthening education, and promoting sustainable community growth.
