Greenville, Sinoe County: The Sinoe County Association in the Americas (SCAA) has donated fifteen (15) cartons of maternal health nutritional supplements to the Sinoe County Health Team to support pregnant women and unborn babies across the county. The donation was presented in Greenville through Mr. Shadrach Geelar was officially received by the Sinoe County Health Team as part of efforts to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services in the county.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Geelar said the donation forms part of SCAA’s ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Sinoe County, noting that this is not the first time the association has made contributions to the county’s health sector.
Receiving the items, Sinoe County Health Officer, Dr. John Yangobo, expressed appreciation to the SCAA for what he described as a timely and meaningful intervention, especially for pregnant women in hard-to-reach communities.
Dr. Yangobo emphasized that the supplements will help reduce health risks among expectant mothers and contribute to safer pregnancies and healthier births.
Also speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Health, Madam Tiah Sackie Moore, thanked the SCAA on behalf of the Ministry of Health and applauded the association for continuously supporting national health development through diaspora partnerships.
He stressed that support from Liberians in the diaspora remains vital to improving healthcare delivery across the country.
Both Dr. Yangobo and Deputy Minister Moore assured the SCAA that the donated supplements will be fairly distributed to health facilities throughout Sinoe County to ensure that pregnant women across the county benefit from the donation.
The donation highlights the important role diaspora organizations continue to play in supporting healthcare and development efforts in Liberia.
