“This international conference is an essential platform for dialogue on how we can collectively enhance humanitarian efforts, protect beneficiaries as well as humanitarian workers especially as crises grow in scale and complexity.
For Liberia, this is an opportunity to share our experiences, learn from others, and secure more support to bolster our humanitarian response,” said Mr. Gregory T. Blamoh, Secretary General of the LNRCS has said.
The conference’s theme emphasizes the global commitment to adapting and strengthening humanitarian responses amid rising uncertainty. “The theme, ‘Navigate Uncertainty – Strengthen Humanity,’ could not be more fitting,” remarked Secretary General Blamoh.
Mr. Blamoh added: “It underlines the need for collective resilience and preparedness in humanitarian work. At a time when global events are increasingly unpredictable, our focus must be on unity, collaboration, preparedness and ensuring that humanitarian principles guide our actions.”
With Liberia facing its own unique challenges, including natural disasters, economic vulnerabilities, and public health issues, the conference presents an invaluable opportunity for the Liberian Red Cross to engage in high-level discussions that can shape policies and secure resources for effective response.
“We return home from this conference more determined to support vulnerable communities, enhance our response capacity, and work alongside partners to meet urgent needs in times of crisis.”
As the conference proceeds, Liberia’s representatives will engage with other member states and Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement leaders to explore innovative approaches and new resources that will further support Liberia’s humanitarian response infrastructure.
