To enhance and reinforce Liberia’s Public Sector, several government institutions have entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate.

The participating institutions include the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), the Governance Commission (GC), and the Civil Service Agency (CSA).

During the signing ceremony, Mr. Nee-Alah T. Varpillah, Director General of LIPA, called the agreement a significant milestone for the Liberian government. He emphasized the importance of a multi-sectoral approach for the effective implementation of government policies.

Varpillah stated that LIPA remains committed to providing training, consultancy, and support for public sector workers.

For his part, Mr. Josiah Joekai, Director General of the Civil Service Agency, criticized the current state of public service, asserting that interagency collaboration is essential for reform.

Prof. Alaric Tokpa, Acting Chairman of the Governance Commission, expressed that this signing marks the beginning of a return to good governance, underscoring the values they are committed to upholding.
