Ganta, Nimba County – Travelers and residents in Ganta can now move freely without fear after a dangerous tree along the Sanniquellie Highway was successfully removed.
The tree, which had posed a serious threat to commuters and residents of Gompa, was cut down following a swift intervention by local authorities. Mayor Samuel Saye Hardt of Ganta City expressed his appreciation to the public for their cooperation in adhering to the earlier safety notice.

“I’m pleased to announce that all citizens of Ganta, especially those from Wuo’s Town, Gbehsseilah, Rehab Communities, and everyone traveling on the Sanniquellie Highway, can now commute without concerns about a falling tree,” Mayor Hardt stated.
Mayor Hardt assured the public that efforts will continue to ensure the safety of roads and communities in the city.
For their part, residents and passersby expressed their gratitude to Mayor Hardt for his prompt action in safeguarding the well-being of motorcyclists, drivers, and pedestrians along the route.
Many were concerned that the tree, which had stood on the property for decades, was at risk of falling after sustaining damage from a fire a week prior at the Ganta United Methodist compound. They feared it could endanger lives and property if the mayor’s office had not intervened, as many were unaware of the precarious situation.
“I was really worried about that tree; it felt like a complete death trap. Mayor, may God bless you,” commented one motorcyclist.
Additionally, Wuo P. Konah, the zone leader of Wuo’s town, praised the mayor for consistently responding to the concerns of community leaders. “The mayor is not only focused on Ganta but also extends his efforts to various communities and beyond. We are grateful for the removal of that tree, which was a serious danger for those traveling on the Ganta-Saniquellie Road.”
