[Monrovia, Liberia] – Former Deputy Minister Isaac Doe has raised concerns about President Joseph Boakai’s leadership, questioning whether his administration is meeting the expectations of Liberians despite his decades of experience in government.
Doe, who previously served as Deputy Minister for Youth Development at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, wonders if those who voted for President Boakai feel satisfied with the state of affairs.
In a Facebook post, he openly criticized the administration’s commitment to the rule of law, citing instances he believes undermine justice and accountability. He also accused the government of corruption, describing it as a “scam.”
According to him, recent incidents have cast doubt on governance and transparency. He referenced the Capitol Building fire, which has sparked controversy and allegations of bias in the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, Isaac W. Jackson, Jr., former Special Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), has also condemned the President, accusing him of disregarding the rule of law. He urged Effort Baptist Church to revoke Boakai’s deacon title due to remarks made by the President.
During his campaign, President Boakai, who served as Vice President for 12 years, promised to fight corruption and uphold the rule of law—key pillars of his ARREST agenda.
However, Doe insists the administration has failed to deliver on its commitments.
Despite these criticisms, the government maintains its dedication to transparency, accountability, and good governance. President Boakai has reiterated that his stance should not be seen as endorsing corruption but as a call for integrity in public service.
