An illustrious son of Bong County based in the US, Dr. George Toto, is craving the full participation of Bongese in the peace and reconciliation initiative of the County.

According to Dr. Toto, development can only thrive in the presence of Unity and as such the reconciliation process should be welcomed with excitement and collaboration from all Bong County citizens.

Dr. Toto hailed the selection of Dr. Morgana Flomo Jr. in spearheading the Peace and Reconciliation process of the County, stating, his tract record aligns with the purpose of the role.

He also urged the Peace and Reconciliation Committee to lead the process with transparency and integrity and do away with politics.“This process can only fruitful if we do away with politics. When we prioritize the interest of the County above individuals, surely we reunite Bong County.” Dr. added.

He also wants the committee to reach out to all segment of County, including all groupings and most importantly the elders of the remote towns and villages citing their experience in traditional conflict resolution strategies.“Let’s not only focus on the urban areas of the County. We need to reach out to the old folks in the towns and villages, they have extensive knowledge in solving problems.”

In another development, Dr. Toto shared in the opinions of other Bongese who have criticized the appropriation of $US315, 000 by the County’s Administration and subsequent approval of $US280, 000 by the Bong County Council for the renovation of the Presidential Palace.

He stated that the allotments of projects should align with the views and aspirations of the County’s inhabitants. Dr. George Toto spoke Monday recently from the US via mobile on a local radio station in Gbarnga.
