Monrovia, June 16, 2025 — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has suspended Abdullah L. Kamara, Acting Chairman of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), with immediate effect.

The decision follows a report from the General Auditing Commission (GAC), which uncovered serious allegations of corruption and financial mismanagement linked to Mr. Kamara’s time as Chief Executive Officer of TAMMA Corporation.

According to the report, the alleged misconduct involves questionable transactions amounting to over US$4.3 million and L$432 million in public funds.

President Boakai stated that Kamara’s suspension, which is without pay, aligns with the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

The President also directed Kamara to cooperate fully with the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) and the Ministry of Justice as investigations continue.
