The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) has officially commenced a five-day intensive workshop at the Liberia Intellectual Property Office (LIPO) in Monrovia.
The training, aimed at strengthening the technical expertise of LIPO staff, focuses on filing industrial property instruments such as patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and utility models under ARIPO’s regional framework.
Garmai Koboi, LIPO’s Director General, highlighted the critical importance of this initiative, emphasizing its role in enhancing the skills of both staff and legal professionals. The workshop will culminate in a specialized session for intellectual property lawyers, providing them with advanced knowledge of the ARIPO filing system to navigate complex industrial property cases effectively.
This workshop is expected to play a significant role in fostering innovation and driving economic growth in Liberia.
