Montserrado County District 10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah has alleged a secret plot within the Liberian Senate to remove Senate Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence from her leadership position.
Speaking at a press conference on Capitol Hill on Monday, the outspoken lawmaker revealed that a resolution to oust Madam Karngar Lawrence has already garnered the signatures of 17 senators.
According to Rep. Kolubah, this covert move to unseat the Senate Pro Temp comes amid broader efforts aimed at destabilizing the legislative leadership.
“I have reliable information that 17 senators have already signed a resolution to remove Senate Pro Temp Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence,” he declared during the briefing.
The alleged plot to oust Karngar Lawrence follows a similar attempt in the House of Representatives, where efforts have been made to unseat House Speaker J. Fonati Koffa. Kolubah suggested that the removal campaign might be part of a broader strategy to shift power dynamics within the Legislature, orchestrated by certain political factions looking to consolidate their influence.
