Hundreds of mourners including Liberia’s Vice President Jeremiah Koung have gathered outside the home of Fallen Nimba County Senator Prince Y. Johnson following his passing.
Senator Johnson, a former War Lord turns Preacher and Politician died at a local Hospital — Hope for Women — in Paynesville early Thursday morning.
He was “72”.
Prince Johnson was an influential Nimba Politician who served as Senator for the County from 2006 – 2024 spending 18 years in the Liberian Senate.
However, Senator Johnson was infamously known for Killing Liberia’s President Samuel K. Doe in 1990 while serving as head of the notorious rebel faction, Independent National Patriotic Front.
He later repented and established his Christ Chapel of Faith Ministries where he served as Pastor until his demise.
