Ganta City, Nimba county…..An opposition politician and senatorial candidate of Nimba County, Armstrong Gokpar Selekpo, is calling on citizens of Nimba County Electoral District #5 to resist the representative bid of Kortor Kwagrue.
Speaking on RKFM’s Breakfast Talk Show Thursday, May, 1, 2025 Armstrong said his call is triggered by the fact that Kortor is allegedly working in the office of the Vice President as a Special Projects Officer, earning a monthly salary of USD 4,800. He noted that electing someone from the VP’s office poses a threat that could undermine the Nimba Project 2029, which is intended to support Vice President Jeremiah Koung’s presidential ambition.
Further elaborating on his stance, Armstrong described Kortor Kwagrue as lacking the capacity to represent Nimba County, citing the absence of academic qualifications, poor physical appearance, and an inability to speak proper English as reasons for his opposition.

He argued that Representative Samuel Kogar, who was elected three times and is now Senator-elect, should not be replaced by someone like Kortor.
Referencing the 2023 General Elections in which Kortor finished second, Armstrong claimed this was because the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) did not field a candidate in the district. He also attributed Kortor’s performance to support from Unity Party sympathizers.
Meanwhile, Armstrong Gokpar Selekpo has pledged his support for Augustus Menkoah to succeed Hon. Samuel Kogar as the next representative of the district.
According to him, Mehkwa possesses strong leadership abilities and is the most suitable candidate to replace Hon. Kogar.
In response, Kortor Kwagrue denied Armstrong Selekpo’s claims that he works in the office of the Vice President as a Special Projects Officer.
He stated that he is a business entrepreneur who believes in providing for those in need.
Kortor also referenced an incident in which Armstrong allegedly insulted him in a Facebook post. He claimed that all 68 comments under the post were in his favor.
