The Ambassador-at-Large for Youth and Sports Development, Alioune Kebe, has presented his one-year report to President Joseph Boakai, outlining significant strides made in tackling drug abuse among youth through the establishment of the Professional Sports Academy (PSA).
Ambassador Kebe described the initiative as a bold and transformative approach that leverages sports as a tool for recovery, empowerment, and personal growth. He noted that under his leadership, the PSA has provided structured sports training and academic mentorship to at-risk youth, ensuring their daily meals, medical care, and other essential supplies.
He emphasized that the program currently supports hundreds of young Liberians from across the country, offering them mentorship and daily structured activities that keep them engaged and away from harmful environments.
According to Ambassador Kebe, the PSA is not only nurturing future athletes, but also inspiring hope, promoting discipline, and shaping a new generation of leaders through sports. He added that the initiative has attracted both local and international partnerships, opened avenues for talent scouting, and created potential scholarship opportunities—offering young Liberians a chance to thrive beyond their circumstances.
