Monrovia, Liberia – The Supreme Court of Liberia has granted a Writ of Prohibition in favor of Modern Development and Management Corporation (MDMC) in a case involving the Company and several government ministries.
The writ, issued by Associate Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr., halts actions by the Ministry of Transport and other agencies to reopen the bidding process for a contract already awarded to MDMC.
MDMC holds a nine-year contract with the Ministry of Transport to produce vehicle registration documents and driver’s licenses. The company filed the petition after the Ministry of Transport attempted to restart the bidding process for the same services, claiming it undermined their legitimate agreement.
The writ directs the ministries involved, including Justice, Transport, Finance, and the Liberia Revenue Authority, to stop any actions affecting the existing contract.
The Supreme Court has ordered all parties to appear on February 5, 2025, to address the matter.
This decision temporarily secures MDMC’s contract while the case is being reviewed.
