Monrovia, Liberia: Representative Taa Z. Wobgbe of Nimba County District #9 has submitted two major Bills to the House of Representatives aimed at boosting the economy and securing Liberia’s financial future.
The first bill is styled, “The National Community & MSME Stimulus Bill”, 2025, which seeks to pump US$10 million directly into small businesses, women’s groups, farmers, and community organizations across all 73 districts.
It offers grants ranging from US$250-US$7,500, with 95% of funds going straight to citizens through bank or mobile money, supported by an online tracking system for transparency.
The second bill, “The Liberia Future Generations Extractive Savings Fund Act“, 2025, aims to protect Liberia’s natural resource wealth by saving 10% of all extractive resources for long-term national use.
The plan creates an independent board, ensures annual audits, and divides the fund into a 70% Heritage/Generation Fund and a 30% Stabilization Fund.
Representative Wongbe says the bill help the country build financial strength and safeguard resources for decades.
“The Future Generations Extractive Savings Fund Act will help Liberia economy and financial strength and protect our natural resources for many years“, he noted.
He believed if both bills are passed, they could reshape national development, strengthen public trust, and make the budget a true tools of empowerment for all Liberians.
“These bills if they are passed into law will reshape our national development and strengthen public confidence and the budget will benefit and empower Liberians”. He added.
